Standoff in the Town of Cedarburg ends peacefully after 3-and-a-half hours

CEDARBURG, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Cedarburg Police Department were called Sunday afternoon, June 8, to a domestic disturbance along Wilshire Dr. in the city of Cedarburg around 12:22 p.m.

A 50-year-old male was reported to be intoxicated, threatening family members and loading up ammunition into magazines.

Before officers arrived, the suspect left the residence in his car. According to a report, he was believed to be armed with a handgun.

Law enforcement located his car around 12:39 p.m. at a pub and restaurant called The Hamilton at Cedar Creek. Police cleared the building and formed a perimeter. The suspect was the only person in the building.

The suspect refused to exit or comply with law enforcement.

At 3:04 p.m. he exited the rear door and was hostile, causing law enforcement to use less-lethal force that included PepperBall rounds and a taser.

He was taken into custody without serious injury and transported to the Ozaukee County Jail.

The area of Hamilton Rd. and Green Bay Rd. was closed for approximately three and a half hours due to the incident.
